Grab some tinder, flint (like Jasper) and char cloth and see what you can when you add a pocket knife to the mix.  This is awesome!

And here’s a quick tip for all you Central and Eastern Oregon desert dwellers… use a bit of that rock you have an abundance of to strike a nice spark using the knife in the same way!
