How To Build A Stealth Fire So No Passer-bys Can See It!

Alfie does it again with an excellent and informative video!

Want to lay low and not get seen but need to eat and keep warm?  Here’s how.  Known as a Dakota Fire Hole, this is one way to stay off the radar.  You can also use this fire if there are gale force winds.  Alfie’s entertaining video gives a whole lot of tips and advice, but watch out for the cheap hooker reference!

  1.  First off, you need to dig a 2-3 foot deep hole and 1.5 feet wide.  If you want a bigger fire than that, dig deeper
  2.  Dig a smaller hole next to it – about 1.5 feet deep
  3. Build a tunnel between the 2 – this allows for oxygen to get into the fire – yep, you might need to blow into the smaller hole to get oxygen into the bigger hole
  4. build a stick platform and add sticks like you would any fire
