Low Profile Shoulder Sheath Makes For Some Heavy Impact When You Need It The Most

Imagine its dark, you are walking down the street and out of no-where you get jumped.  Pretty scary scenario and perhaps this has already happened to you.  If you are prepared no matter what happens you can do something about it with this easy to make sheath.

For best survival and quickest action you are best off with a fixed blade knife than a tactical folder. No good stumbling around trying to get into your front pocket for your folded knife, and then opening it up (if you are lucky enough to get to it in the few seconds available to you).

Just make sure you are legally allowed to carry a fixed blade knife though…

So here’s how to make a shoulder sheath…

Basically, you’ll just need a fixed blade knife

Make sure your knife has a leather or kydex-style (preferred) sheath with 2 grommet holes at the bottom.

  • Next, cut off about 4-5 feet of 550 cord.
  • Tie both ends of the cord through the sheath grommets so it creates a loop.
  • Then just put your arms through the loop with the cord stretched across your back and behind your neck.

(You’ll need to adjust the length so it hangs however you want it on your side.)

So whats so great about it…

One of the benefits of this shoulder harness is that it’s much less obvious than those giant dog-tag neck knives on the market.

You can even get to it with your same-side hand when somebody’s on top of you, as long as it isn’t pinned beneath you.

And if it is, squirm around some and you’ll find you CAN get to it.
